I got to know Gary in the last 6 years. I had the privilege of repairing his accordion for him. Gary and I went out for breakfast one morning to talk about music and talking about different things and finding out we both had Harry Deeley for an accordion teacher. We kept in touch, he would phone me or I would phone him to see how he was doing. Gary gave me a CD of him playing. Gary was like Dick Contino or Art Van Damme on the accordion. He will be missed. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace my friend. Ray.Honeybun - Posted by: Ray. Honeybun (Friend) on: Mar 08, 2013

I met Gary in 1946. His family was like a second family to me! We first met at Harry Deally accordion school where I played guitar and accompanied the kids playing on stage! His father (Paul) recorded my radio show on a wire recorder and made steel albums and tapes so we could listen to after the show. I then began keeping in touch with Gary all through his career. He was a fantastic musician and will always be remembered! - Posted by: Roger st mars (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2013

I first met Gary at Lowe's accordion school a long way back and here is this little kid who could play like Dick Contino. (accordion lovers will know the name). I was not surprised to see his misic career take off. He called me a couple of years ago out of the blue when he heard me on the radio. I regret that we didn't get together for the promised coffee. A lesson learned to my regret. A geat guy, fantastic musician and an inspiration to me and many others at Lowe's Accordion School. My condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Murray (friend) on: Mar 04, 2013
